Drew Smith- smiling at 8am as he welcomes people to our pancake breakfast fund raiser!Saturday, April the 26th Denton Bible Student Ministries headed up a pancake breakfast to raise support for our mission trips in the summer. Besides the mission trip to Austria, we have three other mission teams. They are going to head up a sports camp in Virginia, Florida and Mexico. This is the first time we have taken DBC's Sportsworld to other states within America.
Saturday morning all the teams gathered around to hear the game plan for the morning and to find out our specific roles. Some people helped mix pancake batter, flip pancakes, serve pancakes, pour orange juice, coffee, and others placed a sign by the Mill to let people know we would love to serve them breakfast and tell them where we will be going this summer! We had no idea how many people would come, but we were ready to pancake-it-up wether 5 or 75 people showed! A good amount of people showed up hungry and ready to listen and donate towards sending us to serve God to the uttermost parts! Breakfast was free, but if people felt led to support us we made that possible by placing a box for donations by the pancakes! After the fundraiser we raised about $2,000 dollars. Whoa, our God is huge.
It was so neat to see what God can do with willing hearts. We forget how big He is and become doubtful and then He blows our minds! The previous week we had raised $3,000 dollars just because we were introduced by Tommy Nelson, our pastor, at the two morning services. God can do so much when we least expect it! Overall, I, as well as my team am completely blown away by God's bigness and control! We are so excited to see how He continues to reveal more of Himself to us as we prepare for our trip and even more so, while we are on it! Thank you all for being a part of supporting us, wether financially or prayerfully. You are a blessing!
